The Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit (FHS) were founded in the Diocese of Phoenix by Bishop Emeritus Thomas Olmsted in 2016. With Our Lady of Sorrows as their patroness and the Holy Spirit as their guide, they serve the underserved Native American communities surrounding the Phoenix-metro area and embody the Gospel spirit of metanoia - ongoing conversion - in the Franciscan tradition. Their personal encounter with the Lord impels them to go out and rebuild His Church through authentic preaching, ministry to the poor, ecumenical outreaches, and evangelization with a special focus on fostering personal relationships with Jesus Christ.
The Healing Mass is a special celebration of the Eucharist that invites those in attendance to ask God for healing — spiritually, emotionally, and physically, trusting that He is a Good Father who wants to heal. The Mass intention is for the Lord to bring comfort, restoration, healing, and peace to all those who are attending who may be suffering or in need. It is a powerful experience of hope, reminding God’s people that His grace, mercy, and healing presence are always with them.
